No. Shambaugh and Son, LP does not charge for their CSB Individual Internship. We want you to keep the GI Bill in your pocket and not ours.

Our program is flexible and lasts between 90-180 days, based on your availability and command approval. e.g. the program can be 90 days, 91 days, 111 days, 150 days or up to 180 days. The longer your program is, the more training you will get.

No, the program is 100% hands on and takes places at construction sites throughout the United States. There are primary regions that you will work in. Although, we are nationwide we may not have a current commercial construction project in a specific area that you request.

Southeast- During your CSB, you might work on a number of Construction Projects in the Charlotte through Atlanta Corridor and Savannah.

Tennessee-  Primary Locations are Stanton, TN and Nashville, TN.  For those at Fort Campbell, we would urge you to get command approval authorizing you to work over 50 miles from Base.

Texas-  Current needs in major markets

Per DOD regulations, we can not pay you during your CSB Internship, however we do not want you to have any out of pocket expenses. You will receive reimbursement for food, lodging and mileage.

You will need to have your own steel toed work boots, work pants/jeans, hoodie and rain gear. We will provide PPE, which includes Safety Vests, Safety Helmets, and Eye Protection.

We will provide the tools that you need.

Training Covers the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) provisions for sprinkler installers; safety and health hazards and their prevention; the safe and proper use of personal protective equipment, tools, ladders, rigging, scaffolding, trenches, and winches; fire protection; first aid; and the handling and storage of materials. Each SkillBridge Participant will report directly to a Journeyman that works for Shambaugh and Son, L.P. and be lead by a Foreman and Site Superintendent.

Use and Care of Tools: Training on the proper use and care of tools for sprinkler installers to include safety precautions and OSHA standards.

Reading Blueprints for Fire Suppression Systems: On the job training on how to read fire suppression system drawings.

Sprinkler System Calculations: On the job training on mathematical concepts used in solving installation problems.

Installation of Fire Suppression Systems: On the job training on threading pipe and installation of fire suppression systems.

Upon completion of the Individual Internship, The Participant will be giving the opportunity to join Shambaugh and Son, LP, and be direct entered into UA Local 669. Because of the world class skills that The Participant will develop, they will start Full-Time upon EAS as a Class 3 Apprentice. We are a Registered Apprenticeship Program that requires 10,000 hours of On-the-Job Training and 1,200 hours of technical instruction to become a Journeyman. Because our curriculum is registered, The Participant will earn 45 college credits without incurring debt, receive a 5% pay increase until they complete the 5-year apprenticeship program, be provided 100% benefits, have 2 pension plans, and can use their Post 911 GI Bill. THE GI BILL DOES NOT GO TO US, IT STAYS IN THE VETERAN'S POCKET.
